CK United (WU17) 2 Bray Wanderers (WU17) 1
Women's Under 17 League group 1, Saturday 21 February 2026
Killeshin FC
Bray travelled to Killeshin on Saturday with nine girls making their competitive Bray U17 debut in the green and white shirt.
A tense start by both teams, but in the 13th minute K. Canavan broke down the left wing, stepping inside and shooting the ball into the net to make it 1-0 to CK United. Bray began to settle into the game and on the 27th minute a cross on the left from Grace Leonard into the feet of Bella MacLeod gave Bray a good chance that was saved well by CKs, A Keppel. As the half came to a close, CK United went in 1-0 up .
Bray came out very strong for the second half and began to play some good football. On the 54th minute great work on the left-hand side resulted in a lovely ball by Ellie O’Brien into Bella MacLeod’s feet, who pounced on the ball to shoot far right in the CK net. 1-1!
Both teams were now competing very well. Síofra O’Farrell, subbed in for injured Eva Gaube, made a super save in the 72nd minute from a K. Canavan shot. In the 76th minute with Bray attacking, CK United won the ball and cleared it quickly with a ball into the feet of S. Sinnott, who slotted the ball home to make it 2-1 CK United.
With the match entering the closing stages, Ellie O’Brien pressed hard blocking a defensive clearance from CKs A Keppel, unfortunately the ball narrowly going wide of the CK net. The Bray girls kept working hard and pushed for the equaliser with Bella MacLeod having a number of late chances, but in the end the game finished 2-1 to CK United.
Bray go again next week with the coaches very proud of the efforts from the girls today.
