Shelbourne 3 Bray Wanderers 1

Two second half goal saw Bray fall to a 3-1 away loss in the U20 LOI Academy Tier Two (South).
That was despite Billy O’Neill’s first goal as this level which was a second half equaliser on Saturday afternoon at the AUL Complex in Dublin.
Shelbourne had taken the lead late in the first period. They went back ahead just after the hour mark soon after Wanderers’ equaliser before the Reds sealed the victory in the last minute of normal time.
It was the third meeting of the clubs in the 2024 campaign.
It had finished score-less at the Woodlands in Greystones last April in the EA Sports U20 LOI Group A.
But in the reverse fixture of that competition at the AUL back in June, the Dubliners’ recorded a 6-2 success at the AUL.
The third contest this year was heading for stalemate at the interval until Aderinsola Abdul-Lateef Adewale put the home side ahead in the 37th minute.
But playing in the third strip of sky blue, the Seasiders restored parity through U16 Republic of Ireland international Billy O’Neill in the 57th minute.
However, that joy was short-lived as Shels regained the lead in the 62nd minute through Gavin Hodgins.
With the Wicklow outfit pressing late on, they were caught when out when substitute Dylan Atanda made it 3-1 in the 89th minute.
