Bray Wanderers 0 Kerry FC 2

An inability to take their chances cost Bray as they slipped to an opening day U20 EA Sports Tier Two (South) defeat to Kerry.
The visitors led 2-0 at the break on Saturday afternoon at Ballycorus.
But Wanderers reshaped at half time and had a litany of opportunities to force their way back into the tie in the second period.,
The home side were boosted by the return of first team goalkeeper Jimmy Corcoran who had been sidelined since last March with a shoulder injury.
With Thomas Morgan an unused substitute the night before in the 3-3 draw between the two clubs’ first teams, the away outfit included three unused substitutes form that game at Mounthawk Park.
Two of them combined to break the dead-lock in the 13th minute as Finn Barrett’s corner was headed in by Bobby Amadasun.
The hosts hit back on 31 when Rhys Knight’s free from the ‘D was gathered low by Darragh Foley.
But – playing in the third Sky Blue strip – Bray was caught by a 38th minute counter-attack.
From a home corner, the Munster outfit broke.
Luke Palmer got the better of an opponent. Although Corcoran made the initial save, the striker recovered to convert the rebound.
It was a different scenario after the turnaround.
Daniel Chukwu brought a fine tip round the post save out of Foley on 51.
Three minutes later, Thomas Morgan slipped in Stefan Ugbesia who was denied by Foley. From the corner that followed, Joshua Kerr’s ball to the back post saw Chukwu blaze over close in.
On 66, Destiny Avenbuan’s left wing cross was cleared to the waiting Ugbesia. But from the edge of the box, his curling shot crashed back off the post.
With 15 minutes to go, Ugbesia played in fellow reserve Samuel Collins. But from 12-yards, he fired over the bar.
