Dundalk 2 Bray Wanderers 1

Bray suffered a narrow 2-1 EA SPORTS U20 LOI Group A loss away to Dundalk on Saturday.

At a wet and windy in Oriel Park, the Wicklow side took the lead early in the second period.

But a brace by former Seagull Conor O’Gorman saw the Lilywhite’s secure all three points.

After a scrappy start to the contest, Wanderers started to settle. The impressive Stefan Ugbesia began to influence play, linking up well with fellow striker Oluwatofunmi Afolabi.

With a number of half chances created, the visitors went close when Sam Collins broke up the middle only to see his effort from 18 yards narrowly miss the target.

Bray came out of the traps much better after the break, and Ugbesia scored early (in the 47th minute) when he went one on one with the Dundalk keeper (an ex-Bray custodian) Samuel Safaei before slotting neatly into the bottom corner.

Afolabi and Alex Nolan both had really good chances after that for the Green and White’s but couldn’t convert.

Dundalk equalised on the hour mark, when a ball was crossed into the box was converted by O’Gorman.

The home outfit pushed hard after that and were rewarded again in the 73rd minute with the decisive score.

The Seasiders lost possession on the left hand side and the ball was squared for O’Gorman to make it 2-1.
