Finn Harps 1 Bray Wanderers 3
Bray did an EA SPORTS MU17 League of Ireland Tier 2 North double over Finn Harps as they left Donegal with a 3-1 victory.
Having won 2-1 at new Berryfield Park in Enniskerry the previous Sunday, the Seagulls secured a 3-1 win last Sunday at Letterkenny Community Centre.
The clubs’ player pathway was to the fore as both U15 players Lewis Brady and Olivier Gnutek were on the score-sheet.
In a tight opening period, the home side created the clearer chances. But away goalkeeper Jamie Dalton wasn't kept too troubled.
Wanderers upped their game in the second half and positive impacts from the bench allowed the Seasiders to take a commanding lead going into the closing stages of the contest.
The opening goal came on 58 minutes. The ball was worked wide to Billy Feeney, on the right of the box.
He whipped a dangerous ball into the box, and U15 player Brady – on as a substitute and only on the pitch a matter of minutes - headed into the Harps goal.
It was another U15 player in the shape of Gnutek, who doubled the Wicklow club’s advantage on 78 minutes.
Harps failed to clear a corner. (U15) sub Conor Cunningham hooked the ball back across the danger zone and Gnutek finished calmly.
A first away success in the section was wrapped up three minutes later.
Jack Lawless played a raking cross field ball to Flynn Ryan on the left corner of the box. He controlled expertly, dragged the ball past the defender, and finished cooly to the net.
There was time for the home time to get a consolation goal in the 88th minute as Oisin Ebbs tapped in at the back post.
