CK United 0 Bray Wanderers 2
Two second half goals were enough for Bray to claim their first U17 LOI Academy MU17 Tier Two (South) win.
After losing their opening fixture last week against Waterford FC at Ballycorus, the Seasiders bounced back on Sunday afternoon by getting the better of CK United at Killeshin AFC.
In an even first half were the home team frustrated the visitors and looked dangerous on the counter-attack, the Wicklow side – playing in the third strip of Sky blue - thought they should have had two penalties,
The first was when there seemed to be a push in the box, and secondly, for what looked to be a handball. But both were turned down.
The away side also squandered possession when in good positions in the final third on a number of occasions as the clubs went in level at the break.
But Wanderers needed just three minutes of the second period to find the breakthrough.
Sean Hennelly did some good work down the left flank and found Eric Schütte in the box. The skipper kept his cool before firing past the home keeper Darragh O'Neill.
Schütte's midfield partner Ronan Dawson added the second score in the 51st minute.
Cristiano Bramley's cut back found Isaac Millington whose shot was blocked. But Dawson was there to follow up and convert the rebound.
With Wanderers holding out with a clean sheet, Schütte thought he had a second goal when his left footed drive cannoned off the outside of the post before the final whistle.
