Wexford FC 1 Bray Wanderers 3
Under heavy playing conditions, Bray got off to a winning start in the 2026 MU15 League of Ireland Academy Group 1.
After taking the lead early at Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday afternoon, Wanderers went in level at the break at 1-1.
But two second half goals saw all three points come back up the N11 to Wicklow.
In tough tie, with a heavy surface under foot, the Green and White’s took a sixth minute lead.
The alert Danny Howard latched onto a back pass and rounded home goalkeeper Alex Dodd to finish from a tight angle to the net.
The visitors created a series of chances between then and the half time break. But did not convert.
Wanderers then conceded a penalty three minutes into stoppage time which Jakub Osman scored.
Wexford started the second period well with away custodian Sam Hourihan pulling off a brilliant diving save to keep the tie level.
But the Seagulls soon settled and again started to create openings.
On his debut for the club, new signing Joshua Cron turned in a man of the match display and was involved in both goals.
He set up substitute Drew Mernagh who came off the bench to make it 2-1 with a fine finish.
Cron involved again as another sub Bobby Haybyrne made it 3-1 to seal victory.
