Shamrock Rovers 4 Bray Wanderers 1
Two goals either side of half time saw Bray’s EA SPORTS MU15 LOI Group A two-game winning streak come to an end.
The Seasiders trailed 2-0 at the break on Saturday evening away to Shamrock Rovers before falling to a 4-1 loss at Roadstone.
Despite a bright start by the visitors, the Hoops took a 25th minute lead when off a quick cross in from the left, Charlie Nolan powered in a header.
The Dubliner’s made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time. Corey Fay dribbled to edge box and unleashed a bullet off a shot to the net.
Rovers came out of the blocks fast and within minute of the second period, they made it 3-0. A run and shot saw the ball rebound back off the post for Adam Byrne to slot in.
After that, the Wicklow team started to find more space, grew in confidence and had a few half chances.
But Bray lost the ball in of the middle park in the 67th minute. The home side broke to win a corner. From that delivery, Byrne found the net again.
Wanderers never gave up and pulled one back in the 78th minute.
Some good approach play saw the ball worked off the flank to the centre were Danny Howard struck a fine shot to the bottom corner.
Having scored for the second game in row, Howard was denied again late on by a good Alex Byrne save.
After back to back home victories over UCD and Klub Kildare, the result sees Wanderers drop to third as unbeaten Rovers moved ahead of them into second in the table.
