CK United 1 Bray Wanderers 1

Despite having the lion’s share of possession, Bray’s U15’s had to be content with an EA SPORTS LOI Academy League 2024 Phase 2 – Tier Two (South) point.
The young Seagulls had won convincingly 7-1 in the reverse fixture last July at Ballycorus.
But the second game between the clubs at Burrin Celtic FC in Ballon on Saturday, Wanderers had to come from behind against a well organised and disciplined CK United side to earn a draw.
In the first third, home goalkeeper Conor Hancock saved well from a Charlie Byrne header.
Byrne was then denied by Hancock who saved from close range after an in-swinging corner from Charlie Quinn, which was almost bundled in by Adeyemi Raphael Odogiyan.
Some what against the run of play. Carlow/Kilkenny took the lead ten minutes into the middle third.
Following a quick counter attack, Alex Murphy finished low into the bottom left hand corner when played through on goal.
Despite a number of threatening corner kicks and free kicks where again Hancock saved well a number of times; the equaliser looked like it wouldn’t come for the visitors.
But that pressure finally told in the 62nd minute.
An in-swinging free kick from the left by substitute Louis Rothwell was flicked on by Odogiyan and crept in at the far post.
Yet again, having had all the pressure in the latter stages, the Green and White's had a penalty claim turned down when Sean Howard appeared to be felled in the box - as the Wicklow side were unable to find a winner after good United defending.
