Bohemians 4 Bray Wanderers 3
Despite a battling fight back, Bray went down to Bohemians in a seven-goal thriller in the U15 EA SPORTS LOI Academy MU15 League 2024 Phase 2 – Tier (South).
The Dubliner’s led 3-0 at the Oscar Traynor Centre on Tuesday evening.
But Wanderers hit back to make 3-1 by the end of the second third. Then rallied to 4-3 in the final period but could not find the vital equaliser.
Three points separated the two clubs before kick-off. The reverse fixture between the teams back in April had finished 1-1 at Ballycorus.
In the top of the table clash, the Gypsies took a 12th minute lead when Victor Williams fired high into the net from 12-yards out.
They added to that tally in the 25th minute through a disputed penalty which was converted by Charlie McConnell.
The home side grabbed a third in the 50th minute when Josh Harpur pounced when Wanderers gave away possession and drilled low to the net.
But the Green and White’s pulled one back just before the hour mark, as Karl Ralph volleyed at the back post from a Louis Rothwell corner kick.
However, Bohs restored their three-goal cushion soon after. A corner was cleared but Alfie O’Hanlon turned to strike a shot high into the left corner of the net.
However, Wanderers continued to press in the final half hour with a spirited display.
Substitute Etan Kelly reduced the deficit before an own goal made it 4-3 late on.
Bray Wanderers: Jamie Dalton; Emanuele Vaticone, Jack Lawless, Albie Tormey, Evan Lynch; Louis Rothwell, Karl Ralph; Harry Grainger, Sean Howard, Oisin Kennedy; Daniel Oluwadara Olusola.
