U15 Match Report - Bohemians 4 Bray Wanderers 1
Posted on 22nd February 2025 at 18:48
Three first half goals saw Bray go down to an opening day loss in the EA SPORTS LOI Academy MU15.
That laid the foundation for Bohemians to take all three points at a sunny but windy Oscar Traynor Centre this morning in Group A of Phase 1.
The Seagulls started the game well and had two half chances before conceding a free kick on the edge of their box in the 12th minute.
Poor marking at the back post allowed the Dubliner’s knock the ball back to an unmarked Tony O’Brien who had a simple task of applying the finish.
Wanderers were inexplicably denied what looked like a certain penalty in the 17th minute when a strong run by Olivier Gnutek saw him upended in the box. However, the referee waved play on.
The Wicklow outfit conceded two further goals in quick succession soon after.
Poor defending from the away team saw home side’s Scott Gallagher Comiskey finish from seven yards to make it 2-0 in the 25th minute.
A third score for the Gypsies arrived in the 35th minute an excellent shot from distance by home full back Ben Nicholls found the net.
To the visitors credit, the second half was a much tighter affair on the scoreboard.
The hosts notched a fourth goal in the 55th minute through Adam Zwkovic.
With three minutes of normal time remaining, the Green and White’s pulled one back.
Substitute Conor Cunningham evaded two tackles and unleashed a shot from 25 yards which cannoned off the crossbar.
Cillian Walsh followed up and headed the dropping ball into the home box where sub Kyle Jackson applied a deft header to claim a debut goal.
