Treaty United 1 Bray Wanderers 3

In what was the team’s fourth away match in a row, Bray powered their way into the Quarter Finals of the EA SPORTS U14 LOI Eddie Wallace Cup.
Having beaten Klub Kildare, Cobh Ramblers and St. Patrick’s Athletic to top Group 3 stages of the competition, the Seagulls advanced to the last eight of the kock-out stages with a comprehensive 3-1 away success over Treaty last Sunday at Hogan Park.
Following the recent good team performances, Wanderers continued in that vein despite a poor playing surface.
The Green and White’s went ahead in the first third.
Liam Richardson scored with a well guided header back into the right corner of the net after Nathan Roberts Byrne’s impressive run and right-wing cross.
That lead was doubled in the middle third.
In a move started in the Wanderers half, Richardson threaded a pass down the right flank to pick out Roberts Byrne.
The striker then stood up two opposing defenders running towards the box. He then jinked right before drilling in low from 14-yards.
It became 3-0 before the hour mark.
James Daly tussled for possession near the left of the centre circle in the United half. He then set Alex Fox free wide left to send over a ross into the penalty area.
The ball dropped to full back Senan Dutton who rifled his first-ever goal for the club into the roof of the net from 15-yards with a driven right footed shot.
With the visitors using the opportunity to spring players from the bench, substitute Bobby Haybyrne came close on a couple of occasions, and hit the post twice.
Treaty bagged a consolation in the last minute of normal time through Fionn Kennedy.
