St. Patrick’s Athletic 2 Bray Wanderers 4

A brilliant Charlie McMorrow hat-trick saw Bray claim top-spot in the LOI EA Sports MU14 Cup Group 3 of the Eddie Wallace Cup.
With both teams having already beaten the other two clubs in the group - Klub Kildare and Cobh Ramblers - before Sunday’s encounter at TU Dublin in Blanchardstown, Wanderers secured an impressive 4-2 away victory over St. Pat’s - inspired a by a great overall team performance.
The visitors – playing in the away strip of Royal Blue - went ahead in just the fifth minute. McMorrow chased a ball and when a defensive error was made, he capitalised with a cool finish.
But the Saint’s levelled in the 19th minute as Matthew Canny charged down a clearance, with the ball rebounding to the net.
The Dubliner’s went 2-1 up in the second third when substitute Ahmed Ali rifled a shot into the top corner of the net after his initial effort had been blocked.
But the away side restored parity before the hour.
McMorrow chased a seemingly lost cause. He somehow evaded four players to send over a cross. Liam Richardson rose between two defenders to head in the equaliser.
In the final third, the Wicklow outfit went back 3-2 ahead.
In a good team move involving Dylan McGuinness and Christian Scanlan, they found McMorrow on the flank. He cut inside a challenge before unleashing a stunning shot from outside the box that swerved on his way to finding the net.
With full time approaching, the win was sealed by the Seagulls.
McMorrow again showed pace and strength in a breakaway. He evaded two opponents before whipping in a cracking finish to complete his personal treble.
