“The Seagulls” let lead fly away at Ferrycarrig Park.
Wexford 2–1 Bray Wanderers
League of Ireland First Division – 3 April 2026
Gareth Danaher reports from Ferrycarrig Park.
It was a Good Friday to forget for Bray Wanderers on Friday night at Ferrycarrig Park.
Wexford turned the game on its head with a composed second-half display to edge past Bray Wanderers 2–1, recovering from an early setback to claim all three points on home soil.
Bray struck first and looked sharp in the opening exchanges. Their pressure paid off midway through the first half when Jamie Duggan finished confidently with a header in the 22nd minute to give the visitors a 1–0 lead, rewarding a bright start that unsettled the hosts.
Wexford, however, gradually found rhythm without ever dominating outright. The contest remained tight and somewhat cautious, with both sides matching each other physically rather than creating a flood of chances. Bray held their lead into the break, but there were signs Wexford were beginning to settle.
The equaliser arrived early in the second half and shifted the tone. Liam Doyle brought Wexford level on 53 minutes, finishing a move that reflected a more purposeful attacking approach from the home side.
From that point, Wexford looked the more composed team. While Bray still carried a threat on the break, their control of the game began to slip, and possession increasingly tilted in Wexford’s favour (51% to 49%).
With nine minutes of regulation time left substitute Kaylem Harnett drilled an effort into the bottom right hand of the goal that Wanderers shot stopper Jimmy Corcoran couldn’t find a hand to and ultimately decided the game and all three points stayed in Wexford.
Bray are back in action quickly enough as they face Finn Harps at home on Easter Monday (April 6th) with a 5pm kick off. Be sure to be there and support the boys in green!
