Bray Wanderers 2–2 Treaty United

First Division – Friday, 1st May 2026

A spirited second-half fightback from Bray Wanderers was undone in the closing stages, as Treaty United struck late to earn a 2-2 draw at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday evening. Cian Doyle and Daniel Ring had turned the game on its head after the visitors took an early lead, but a Robbie Lynch equaliser ten minutes from time ensured the points were shared.

It had been a promising run of form coming into the game. Back-to-back results against Drogheda United in the Leinster Senior Cup and a creditable draw with league leaders Cork City had lifted the mood around Bray, and the Seagulls arrived into this fixture with genuine momentum and intent.

Treaty disrupted that early. Jason Oyenuga caught Bray on the break in the 11th minute, finishing clinically to give the visitors a lead that came somewhat against the run of play. Despite Bray dominating possession in the opening period at 60% and forcing the only corner of the half, it was the visitors who carried more cutting edge in front of goal and took their lead into the break.

Tempers began to fray as the half wore on. Sam Healy was booked for Treaty on 31 minutes, and Cian Doyle picked up Bray's first caution five minutes later. Oyenuga and Richmond Ohin were both shown yellows late in the half, with Treaty ending the period with three bookings to Bray's one.

Bray regrouped after the interval and came out with renewed urgency. Twin substitutions on 59 minutes — Billy O'Neill on for Achara, and Daniel Ring on for Sammy — shifted the momentum, and the equaliser arrived five minutes later. Doyle powered home a header on 64 minutes to level the tie and send a ripple of relief through the Carlisle Grounds.

The complexion of the game changed dramatically moments later. Oyenuga, already booked, was shown a second yellow on 67 minutes and dismissed, leaving Treaty to play out the remainder of the match with ten men. Bray pressed home the advantage when Ring slotted into the bottom corner on 70 minutes to put the Seagulls in front and send the home support into full voice.

With three points seemingly in reach, Treaty struck back against the run of play. Lynch finished with composure on 82 minutes to snatch a share of the spoils — a goal in transition that stung Bray given their numerical advantage and clear second-half dominance, with the Seagulls outshooting Treaty 9–3 after the break and forcing four corners to the visitors' one.

The closing stages were ill-tempered, with further bookings on both sides as the match grew increasingly fractious. Neither side could find a decisive late goal, and the points were shared.
