Seagulls Soar to Second as Bray Cruise Past Treaty
Bray Wanderers 2 - 0 Treaty United
SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division – Friday, 18 September 2026
Gareth Danaher reports from the Carlisle Grounds.
Bray Wanderers strengthened their position in the First Division promotion play-off places
with a 2-0 victory over Treaty United at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night.
After a goalless first half, the Seagulls produced a decisive spell after the break, scoring twice in
the space of six minutes to secure another important three points in front of their home
supporters.
Bray started brightly and created the early openings, with Tyreik Sammy and Richard Ferizaj
both testing Treaty goalkeeper Jack Brady during the opening stages.
Treaty, however, showed plenty of attacking threat of their own and had their best opportunity of
the first half in the 18th minute. Cian Curtis and Fuad Kareem combined inside the Bray penalty
area before Ryan Manning fired narrowly wide from 12 yards.
Bray continued to press as the half progressed. Ferizaj went close again after Ajibola
Oluwabiyi’s dangerous run and cut-back, before Brady was forced into action from a Ferizaj
cross-shot.
Dean O’Shea also came close shortly before half-time when his 20-yard half-volley was cleared
off the line, leaving the sides level at the interval.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 66th minute.
Sammy burst forward down the left before delivering a dangerous cross into the Treaty area.
Endri Mustali got ahead of his marker and his effort found the bottom corner to give Bray a
deserved lead.
The Seagulls then doubled their advantage just minutes later.
Paul Heffernan’s substitutions immediately paid dividends, with Ethan Cheese making an instant
impact after coming on. His perfectly weighted pass released Richard Ferizaj, who raced into
space before firing a powerful 15-yard effort into the roof of the net.
The goal was Ferizaj’s fifth of the season, giving Bray a commanding 2-0 advantage.
Treaty attempted to respond but Bray’s defence remained composed, while Rian Hogan and the
Seagulls’ backline ensured that the visitors failed to register a shot on target during the game.
Bray saw out the remaining minutes comfortably to claim a valuable 2-0 victory.
The result moved the Seagulls up to second place in the First Division on 50 points, with the
result also strengthening their position in the promotion play-off race.
It was another important night for Bray, who followed up their 1-0 away victory over Kerry with
another clean sheet and three points as the regular season enters its final stages.
