The Bray Wanderers Walking footballers are competing in the Mallorca Football tournament in Mallorca, Spain this weekend. We have entered two teams – one in the over 60’s competition and another in the over 65’s competition. Two underage players are allowed to play in each competition. Each game is 14 minutes duration.
Over 60 tournament Fixtures Friday 1 May
Cambridge Cabelleros (England) 10.15am CET local time), Hartshill Strollers (England) (11.15am), Teign Drifters (England) 12.30 Leyton Orient (England) 13.00, Wellington (England) 13.45, Portsmouth (England) 15.15, Manchester Old Boys (England) 16.15.
The eight teams in the group qualify for the knockout stages which will be held on Sunday 3rd May.
Over 65 tournament Fixtures, Saturday, 2 May.
We have been paired with English, Scottish and Gibraltar opposition in this age group. Our fixtures are: Oxford United (England) 10.30am, Gibraltar 11.15am, Leyton Orient (England) 12.00, Gala Fairydean (Scotland) 12.45, Grimbsy Town (England) 13.30.
The top two teams from the group go straight to the semi-finals the following day. Teams placed 3rd to 6th play off in the quarter finals on the Sunday.
