The Bray Wanderers 1999 FAI Cup winning team and officials were honoured at Sunday’s FAI Cup final at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

After the club’s first success in the competition back in 1990, the Seagulls got the better of Finn Harps after an amazing trilogy back in May 1999.

And to mark the Silver Jubilee of that great occasion, the squad and staff were presented to the 38,753 fans at half time at the showpiece event.

After a score-less first game at Tolka Park in Dublin, the replay finished 2-2 after extra time at the same venue.

Jonathan Speak gave the Donegal side a 57th minute lead. But Barry O’Connor headed in an 86th minute equaliser.

Tom Mohan restored Harps lead in the 102nd minute.

In the last minute of the second period of extra time, Colm Tresson saw his penalty saved. But Kieran ‘Tarzan’ O’Brien converted the rebound.

In the second replay back at Tolka Park, Speak again put Harps ahead in the 11th minute.

But Jason Byrne levelled in the 37th minute before popping up with the crucial winner in the 73rd minute.

At a ceremony before Sunday’s Sunday, FAI President Paul Cooke presented the 25th anniversary squad of players and staff with a commemorative medal to mark the occasion.

Then manager (now current Head of Football) Pat Devlin along with two-goal hero in the second replay Jason Byrne were interviewed on stage to discuss the famous victory.

Captain Mick Doohan – who lifted the Cup alongside Bo McKeever - and club record appearance holder Colm Tresson also took to the stage to talk about the three matches.
