Match Preview - UCD v Bray Wanderers February 21 2025

On the road for the second week in a row, Bray make the short journey to the Bowl on Friday to take on UCD in the SSE Airtricity Men's First Division. 

Both teams had contrasting fortunes on the opening weekend – with the Students losing 3-0 at home to Wexford FC while the Wicklow team left Longford Town with a 1-0 away success. 

“We were happy with the result. We know the performance could have been a lot better. But the conditions weren’t great. To come away with the three points was a good day for us” said First Team Coach Paul Heffernan. 

The Seagulls handed no less than seven starting debuts last week in the Midlands, with another two off the bench. 

“Like we said last week, four of those players were making their first ever league start with any club. That experience will help them going forward. We know it’s going to tough against UCD. Hopefully, we can get another good result.” 

 

 

Striker Billy O’Neill is available after U17 Republic of Ireland duty last week. 

Having picked up a knock in pre-season, defender Dylan Barnett has resumed training. 

But defender Banjamin Fagbemi is ruled out.
