Bray Wanderers Match Preview
League of Ireland First Division
Treaty United
Friday February 20, Markets Field
Kick-off 7.45pm
Three months on from winning the First Division Play-off final between the two clubs, Bray travel to take on Treaty in the second week of the 2026 First Division season.
Both teams are much changed since their November 2025 contest in Athlone which Wanderers won dramatically 1-0.
The Seagulls handed out seven first-team League debuts in last week’s 1-1 draw against Longford Town at the Carlisle Grounds.
United suffered a 1-0 Munster derby defeat away to Cork City.
“We have two tough away games coming up - starting with a trip to Treaty on Friday,” (then facing Cork away next week) said First Team Coach Paul Heffernan.
“Like ourselves, Treaty have plenty of new faces in their squad, and they were very unfortunate not to get something from the game last week in Cork.
We know we are in for a tough test, but it’s a game we are looking forward to.”
With several new arrivals still to make their bow in Green and White colours, Heffernan stressed “Last week’s results showed that the League is going to be very competitive. And every team will go into most games thinking they can win.”
