Bray Wanderers Match Preview
League of Ireland First Division
Dundalk
Friday September 12, Oriel Park
Kick-off 7.45pm
On the road for the fourth time out of their last five fixtures, Bray make the trip to Louth on Friday to take on First Division leaders Dundalk.
Currently ten points separate the two clubs in the standings, with Wanderers in third and the Lilywhites who are top of the table.
With a play-off position secured by the Wicklow side after last week’s win with over Athlone, just six games remain in the tile race which is now between the two clubs, and Cobh Ramblers.
“We have proven all season that we are more than capable of competing with every team in this league” declared First Team Coach Paul Heffernan.
“I’m sure there will be a huge crowd in to support Dundalk as the end of the season gets closer. But we must enjoy that atmosphere, and we have full confidence and belief in ourselves to go up there and get a result.”
TEAM NEWS
Bray are boosted by the return of both Billy O’Neill and Alain Kizenga from Republic of Ireland U17 and U19 International duty, respectively.
Midfielder Sean Brennan has resumed full training.
But on-loan winger Matthew Britton is still sidelined.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS IN 2025
When the teams met last March at the Carlisle Grounds, Dundalk won 3-1.
Daryl Horgan, Dean Ebbe and Eoin Kenny all scored for the visitors before Max Murphy pulled one back for the Wicklow club from the penalty spot.
At Oriel Park back in May, it finished 2-2.
Sean McHale gave the Railwaymen the lead. Kilian Cantwell equalised before Harry Warren put the Seagulls in front. But Gbemi Arubi equalised in stoppage time.
Back at the Carlisle in July, Wanderers won 2-0 thanks to Max Murphy’s penalty and a late Danú Kinsella Bishop strike.
