Bray Wanderers FC are delighted to announce Thorntons Recycling as our Official Sustainability Partner.

Through our new initiative, ‘The Carlisle Goes Green’, we’ll be working alongside Thorntons to help make the Carlisle Grounds one of the greenest grounds in the country.

When entering the grounds you will now see the placing of Thorntons branded bins - Green, Brown, and Grey, stationed around the pitch with educational boards helping fans to separate the waste. This will help our ground staff keep the Carlisle Grounds clean after games, and events.

The Carlisle Grounds has undergone many new upgrades recently including the installation of a new pitch, LED floodlights, academy dressing rooms and the players' lounge, additional works to enhance the first team squad dressing rooms will begin in the coming weeks.

As the Carlisle Grounds has one of the best public transport hubs in the League of Ireland, with the Dart Station and a Bus terminal just a one-minute walk away, the club encourages fans to travel on public transport to games when they can. This will further help us with this important environmental initiative.

On the partnership, chairman Tony Richardson commented:

“Sustainability and responsibility go hand in hand with community and sport, and thanks to Thorntons Recycling commitment, we have taken a significant step forward in reducing our environmental impact both on matchdays and throughout the season. The installation of modern, efficient waste separation and recycling units across the ground is not only a huge improvement operationally, but it also sends a clear message: Bray Wanderers is committed to playing its part in protecting the environment for future generations.

This partnership is a testament to the power of local collaboration. Thorntons Recycling has long been a valued presence in our community, and we are incredibly proud to work with a business that shares our values of sustainability, responsibility, and community pride. Sincere thanks also to our Bray Wanderers ground staff for their hard work in keeping the Carlisle green and clean throughout the year.”
