When the club first discussed Football Social Responsibility (FSR) in 2023 we started with a simple idea, to use the power of Bray Wanderers in the community to bring isolated people together after a tough period from COVID 19. It started off as a handful of local football sessions, but has grown into a thriving network of programmes that generates a sense of possibility and purpose on a weekly basis.
Today the Seagulls in the Community use the power of football to inspire, and support people of all ages and abilities. From our Walking Football sessions which has grown into a squad of 30 + older adults looking to stay active, to our Down Syndrome Futsal team that now provides a safe and inclusive space to play the beautiful game. Our School Programmes also continue to promote a healthy lifestyle, and teamwork from an early age. Every initiative is designed to bring people together, break down barriers, and create opportunities for all.
This growth has only been possible because of the passion of our volunteers and the dedication of our staff, but we need more support to continue to expand and continue having the impact the community needs.
