Our Story So Far...
Seagulls in the Community began in 2023 as a simple idea led by Club Supporter Liason Officer (SLO) Dermot O’Brien to improve the club's Football & Social Responsibility (FSR) activities. It started off as just a few people coming together for the occasional game of walking football to improve their physical and mental health.
What started small has developed into a wide-reaching community programme that reflects Bray Wanderers’ commitment to inclusion, wellbeing, and local impact. The initiative now includes a Bray Wanderers Down Syndrome team, regular coaching sessions in local schools, and a range of social initiatives focused on key issues like mental health and improving the environment. The walking football idea has now grown into a weekly game with over 30 team members of the Bray Walking Wanderers.
It’s a grassroots effort that continues to grow — driven by genuine volunteers with a connection to the people of Bray and beyond with the belief that football can be a powerful force for good. Take a look through our FSR deck below!
